    I am an entrepreneur and skipper with over 8 years of experience. Certified International Sailing specialist. Instructor at the International Sailing Schools Association (ISSA). I have trained more than 50 people.

    Yachting retreat > Captain’s school

    Theory 01

    8 sessions on ZOOM, once a week for 1.5 hours. 13 topics. Small group, live discussion format. Study from anywhere in the world.

    Practice 02

    7 days in open water under the supervision of an instructor. Groups of no more than 4 — everyone personally practises every manoeuvre.

    Exam 03

    You demonstrate your theoretical knowledge and practical skills. You receive your international ISSA Inshore Skipper (BE) licence.

    Adventures 04

    You charter a yacht anywhere in the world and set off on your first journey as a captain.

    THEORY 350 €
    • Master 13 topics split into 8 parts. One part = one session
    • General yacht structure. Motoring under engine.
    • Anchoring. Types of berthing
    • Meteorology. Sailing under canvas.
    • Position fixing. Passage planning
    • IALA buoyage system
    • Collision regulations (COLREG).

    • Points of sail, tacking and gybing

    ISSA licences — what do they give you

    International — valid in the external waters of any country in the world without territorial restrictions.
    Unlimited — lifetime validity, no renewal required, unlike documents issued by some other associations.
    Day/Night — authorise you to skipper a yacht at any time of day or night. The course includes a night passage — you will gain both the skills and the legal right to sail after dark.

      01 — New geography. Expand the horizons of your travels. Hard-to-reach coves, islands without marinas, routes that are inaccessible from land — all of this is yours now.

      02 — A new world. Master entirely new skills, meet people on your level and immerse yourself in a world of different rules, mechanics and emotions. The sea changes people.

      03 — Independence. Set off on a journey with a crew of like-minded people, free from travel agencies and fixed schedules. You are the captain — you decide.

      Bonus. Your captain’s licence will come in handy where you least expect it. Renting a motorboat on Lake Como, a sailing trip in the Maldives, heading out to sea in Sicily — with an ISSA licence it’s simple and available anywhere in the world.

      FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

      The theory sessions take place in groups of up to 16 people, but students come to the practical training in groups of no more than 4 — so that everyone personally practises every manoeuvre and successfully passes the exam.

      You need to demonstrate your theoretical knowledge and successful completion of the practical modules.

      Training can be conducted in Russian, Ukrainian or English, depending on the group.

      The licence allows you to charter a yacht or catamaran anywhere in the world (except Russia, the USA and China) and sail up to 20 nautical miles (~32 km) offshore.
